NBA Superstar, Steph Curry Partners with FTX as Global Ambassador

NBA player, Stephen Curry has signed an agreement with FTX to become the exchange’s new global ambassador.

FTX announced that it has signed a long-term partnership with NBA superstar Steph Curry. This transaction enabled the three-time champion to become FTX’s new global ambassador. In addition, Curry will acquire shares in FTX Trading Limited and its charitable foundation Eat.Learn.Play will partner on charitable activities.

According to the official announcement, Curry stated that he is “excited to partner with a company that demystifies the crypto space and eliminates the intimidation factor for first-time users.” The two-time NBA MVP added that “FTX is like-minded when it comes to giving back to the community in meaningful ways, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.”

FTX has been busy partnering with well-known athletes like Tom Brady and Trevor Lawrence. This move marks the first time Curry has worked with cryptocurrencies.

FTX Making an Impact in Sports World

In addition to the partnership between FTX and athletes, the company recently acquired the naming rights for a new football stadium. The stadium is to be called the UC Berkley Football Stadium, home of Cal Berkley’s Golden Bears. The transaction is reportedly valued at $17.5 million, is valid for ten years, and allows FTX to maintain some personal contact with the stadium and the right to be attributed. These connections refer to former players, including Sina Nader, the chief operating officer of FTX who played for the Golden Bears.

As part of the collaboration with Eat.Learn.Play. Foundation, FTX has committed to providing contributions as Step and Ayesha Curry look to unlock the potential of all kids. This non-profit organization focuses on fighting child hunger, providing quality education and safe training venues. To date, the charity has provided 17 million meals to children and their families in Auckland.

Commenting on the partnership, Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of FTX, said:

“After meeting and speaking with Stephen, it was clear that he is a seamless fit for FTX. His tireless commitment to charity alongside a ferocious work ethic to become the greatest in any arena he steps foot in, whether it is basketball, investing or business, perfectly aligns with FTX’s core values. I look forward to working together with Stephen to create a positive impact for those who need it most in the world.”
