ESET is a well-known cybersecurity company that provides necessary services to ensure that users enjoy the latest technologies in cyberspace. Earlier last week, the company launched new versions of its Windows security products to cover malware detection, smart home support, online banking, and password security for consumers.
The latest versions improve the protection model in ESET Internet Security, ESET NOD32 Antivirus, and ESET Smart Security Premium. With the increasing rate of cyberattacks, these products will help users safeguard their online activities by minimizing banking-related threats and unauthorized access to users’ personal information.
An overview of the upgrade
The upgrade brought better Hot-Based Intrusion Prevention System and Advanced Machine Learning modules. Other primary updates include the new Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) and System Registry scanners that are capable of detecting malware that uses the registry maliciously. The Connected Home module also comes with better-connected device detection and security issues troubleshooting.
Since financial security is a priority, the upgraded Banking and Payment Protection features special and well-secured browser mode, which allows users to pay their bills online. It also enables users to run any supported browser in the secured mode by default. While the secured mode is active, communication between the keyboard and mouse with the browser is encrypted to guard against keylogging. The Banking and Payment Protection also notifies users when Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is active to alert them about the incoming danger of malware abusing RDP.
Furthermore, ESET Password Manager was rebuilt with new features too, such as remote logout from websites and clearing of browser history. It is available as both browser extensions and native mobile apps.
Speaking on the new product upgrade, the Product Manager at ESET, Matej Kristofík, said:
“As cyber threats continue to evolve, it is only necessary that we protect consumers and their devices on every level. Technology is at the center of our lives, from online banking to connected homes, so it is more important than ever that our technology is safe. Therefore, we are proud to offer our latest Windows security product updates to consumers, reflecting our resolve to provide a safe digital environment for all.”
