El Salvador remains the first country to make Bitcoin a legal tender but news today confirmed that the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin Archange Touadera, has signed a bill drafted by the minister of digital economy, Gourna Zacko, and the minister of finance and budget, Calixte Nganongo.
The Central African Republic is the first African country to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender.
Last year, cryptocurrency adoption in Africa grew 1200% between July 2020 and June 2021, making it the fastest adoption rate in the world.
